I need help with this 1878-P 7tf Morgan. It has the polished away feathers and many other characteristics of the HL40 VAM-116 bunch. It is, however missing the reverse polishing lines. The coin is slabbed MS63PL by PCGS. Any help with the VAMMING would be greatly appreciated. Paleoguy45

Sorry, it's not a 116. Check out VAM 131C1.

The "killer" PUP for the 116 is that die chip behind the eye with the scratch extending into the hair. If it has the closed 'O' in God and that die chip ... it's a 116. The V140 has the open 'O'. It's the same obverse paired with a different reverse.
Rest in Peace
