Hey guys, can someone recommend an on line dealer where I can buy the 2007 ASEs? Uncirculated, untouched, etc. I'm probably going to get 10. Thanks.

Maybe https://www.apmex.com, right now they're selling 2007 ASE's at $14.46 www.bulliondirect.com is selling them for $14.02 in their catalog.

I would also check with one of our sponsors Gainesville Coins, SuperDave spoke with them at a recent show and said they're great people.

Depends on which 2007 ASE you are looking for. If you need a proof or a burnished W, you can go to the US Mint website. If you want the bullion investment version, the dealers that Bobby and Kenny mentioned are good.

Have you checked your local dealer? Mine's carrying them for $15 each, which is cheaper than if I were to order online and have them delivered.

Silver dropped $1.23 today so they should be pretty cheap today.

My only advice is if you go with a bullion dealer, the quality can be somewhat variable (I buy from online dealers at times and they are usually not choosey about nicks, scratches, etc. - but then I only buy a couple at a time).
If you want a nice looking, clean pieces I would recommend a local dealer (where you can see what you are buying).

By the way I was on the US Mint web site last night, did some shopping. I picked up one of the ASEs that was "struck on a burnished blank." I don't know exactly what that means, but I was there and I was shopping, so I bought one. I guess I'll find out soon enough what it is.
Anyway, when it comes to ASEs, I'm not sure if I'm a collector or a hoarder. I've been getting 10-12 per year and back filling when I get a chance. So I've got quite a few.
Question, looking for opinions: does it make more sense to pick up a couple of proofs and or "burnished" each year or continue the hoard? In the end it's all fun.
I know it's a matter of personal preference, but tell me what you think.

The coins that were "struck on a burnished blank" bear the 'W' mintmark, while the regular bullion ASE's don't have the 'W' mintmark.

Personal preference is correct. I truly enjoy the proofs from the mint. If I buy any of the commems or Eagles, I always get the UNC and proof. Not sure what it is exactly. Probably that extra "pop" when you open the velvet cases.......

You will pay a premium for the "collector" burnished with the W mint mark, so if you are collecting for bullion, get the normal bullion version without the W mint mark. If you are collecting for numismatic value, then, of course, you need to get them all (2007, 2007-W and 2007-W Proof).
