Maybe all proceeds went to some charity and the $100 grand is tax deductible or something. Just think what real numismatic goody could have been bought with that money....

That's just plain silly IMO! I don't see that coin ever being able to be resold at that level. But I've been wrong before.

OK, "First Sold" at the ANA in Chicago, but it's not likely it was the "first minted." I don't understand the attraction!

I hope the buyer enjoys it!

It's Not even the first one minted. It's the first one sold at the ANA convention. "If" I had a $100,000 to blow it would not be on this one. How much did the holder make it?

Can you imagine what coins you could get for a 100k versus paying for a label. Imagine all the nice coins that could be had instead of a label on a $1250 coin. He paid 98,750 for a label.
