Been collecting Canadian coins for two months now. I have around 40. (Only 5 real gems). Living in the UK I don't have ready access to beautiful Canadian coins as I'm sure most Canadian collectors do. I am aware of the dangers of buying on ebay too so I am careful when buying online. I am interested to know how do you find your coins?

mostly ebay here and ccf members. I try and only purchase ICCS coins on ebay because its hard to judge raw coins through images. I don't mind buys raw coins from knowledgeable CCF members like SPP-Ottawa tho. I think you need to get your posts up to purchase from other members tho.

There are serious dealers on ebay but buy only if they accept returns.

I mostly buy from ebay and VCoins.

For you, I'd recommend that you get your post count up. There are a lot of Canadian members here that are willing to sell you quality Canadian Coins.

JT94, welcome. Don't forget to look at Victorian Newfoundland coins, some of them are stellar.

THe Royal Canadian Mint stuff is getting way too expensive from the mint. Some of the coins are amazing, (Group of Seven, Farewell to the Penny, native themed etc), but you should always be able to get them for below issue price.

I wish they would make it easier to sell coins on this site...I have a bunch of surplus coins and mid grade coins that would be perfect for a starter collection....and ICCS certified already!

I like to get my Canadian stuff from local coin shows. Granted, there are only a couple good shows a year and selection isn't enormous, but I usually find what I am looking for and at a decent price.
