I know, barryg, I was hoping for at least a couple more! Yours is very nice, by the way. I love the 1886 series notes with the ornate backs. And thanks to hajduk for posting a Stanton note already today! Hopefully we'll have an unbroken string of consecutive types now that these tough first days are over with I'll be posting my educational single tomorrow ... still a nice gorgeous note, even though mine has seen better days! Let's see all those "History Instructing Youth" notes tomorrow! And for the record, I'm perfectly fine with some "1" coming between George and Martha!

While I don't own either type (Original or Series 1875) of a $1 National Bank Note, two years ago I paid a gentleman to acquire some scans of proof NBN's from my home state. Charter #1803 The First National Bank of Paris, Missouri My apologies for not posting this back towards the beginning. -MV

Well, as long as we're posting random early $1 bills, I might as well post this one: Just don't ask me what year it is. I'm pretty sure it's pre-Civil War, but don't quote me on that...

Hi barryg, this bill is a remainder. The genuine bill was issued in the 1860s.

Hello, hajduk!
I understand that this was a leftover note that was never actually issued since the bank closed, which is why it doesn't have a serial number or a signature. But I wouldn't say that it wasn't "genuine", since that implies it is a reproduction.
