Can someone provide a general reference for star notes and what to keep.

I know lower serial #s are best. I know mintage is best <1million, even better at <320k.

I am talking about regular (large head) current bills.

I am keeping everything, and don't mind doing so, but seems that I may end up with a small fortune!

If you were out and about and got a $10 2004A star note, would you be excited right away (in average condition), or would you pocket it to look up later, or would you just respend it?

Thanks everyone!

I usually keep them until I can look up the amount printed and if it's a high run I'll normally let it go unless its still crisp and uncirculated. Also, if it's really worn then I usually don't even bother.
Rest in Peace

I'd probably keep a few of the best ones.

I generally don't release the others back into the wild. I take them to my local club and spend them there.

John,

Yes, been using that site, but it doesn't say, "Hey that's a keeper!". Just looking for some general rules.... I guess for now, just keep em all.. When I need the cash, i'll start with higher denoms that are higher runs and work my way down.
