Was there a design change that year? I am not so familiar with nickel varieties.

there are 4 years with RED but I think everyone they gave up on documenting it - I would love to track them all down and share referrence

I am not either but as a side spare time thing I am putting together a nickel varieties website in hopes that there can be central place but its hard to find and own all the coins for the photos

I have dabbled with them in the past. I still do when I want a break from Lincolns. I will be glad to help you anyway I can. Just let me know. It seems like a worthwhile endevor.
