The thrill of the hunt. Plus I like keeping statistics as to what the rolls consist of.

I hunt for the thrill and collect so that hopefully one day I can share my finds and collection with my future kids so they can learn about coins and see what I did/do as a hobby.

To foil evil banks. No, but seriously to me it's about the idea of finding a coin that has been lost in the world for decades only to find a home with me.

It's fun and a great pass-time. I do not expect to get rich in any sense of the word. John1

I'm with John1. I don't get to buy coins to add to my collection but every year I will need 2 more for each type (not to mention ATB). So I get great examples at face, as well as upgrading older ones at face. The occasional find that is worth sometimes obviously makes you happy but it's a good way to pass time and have coins on your hands you didn't have to pay anything for (since you'll probably return 99% of them).

I CRH to pass time and it's fun for me. I also like it when you find something that is really old. I guess it is also somewhat of the thrill of the hunt.

To pick out all the American nickels (I live in a border town) and the thrill of the hunt. Anyone can buy a complete set of King George VI nickels off ebay or J & M but putting together an f-8 set for free is pretty rewarding. Plus I was born in '94 so the whole "Pokémon: Gotta Catch 'Em All" mentality is still there.

I CRH because numerous reasons: 1: I put all wheats, buffalos, silvers, proofs, and doubles or more of coins I already own away for my kids. 2: Its my way to get my quiet alone time. I have 2 kids 4 and almost 2 it gets pretty hectic in house from time to time. 3: Its a good way to find doubled dies or errors at face value. I never intend on getting rich off this hobby for that's not a reality CRHing. If a valuable coin comes my way through a roll then depends what it is Ill sell or keep it. 4: The excitement of not knowing whats in the next roll.

It's cheaper than buying them.

Kaboel,
I used to work at a bank. And we would get these halves from a guy reboxed. Funny think is Garda would truck them from us to another bank...which happened to be his pick up bank and he just got his own stuff all over. We laughed about it

To help pass the time on the nights that I have trouble sleeping. So far I've found enough copper to fill 24 penny boxes. I've had a few nights where I've had trouble getting to sleep.
