I currently reside in Canada, and am heading down to Watertown NY and was wondering what bank I could go to to get some coins. I once had someone else ask one time and the bank said we needed an account. Anyone have any branch recommendations?

TD or bank of America would be your best bet.
Just ask for a change order. Best to call in 20 min prior.

Just jump from bank to bank and tell the teller you are from Canada and hoping to buy some coins to search through to fill albums. I do this in Montana and usually don't have issues getting boxes of coins with no account. And no fee.

Just go to any bank, tell them you are from Canada and wanting to make a set of State Quarters as a souvenir of your trip, and would like some other coins too while you are here and will take a few rolls of each type you want.

I travel there for business from time to time. Watertown itself has been mostly tapped from local CRH'ers. However, the locals don't tend to hunt the outskirts. Some of those areas (within 20 miles of Watertown) have goodies (especially halves). Try these towns:

Adams(South of Watertown)
Champion (East of Watertown)
West Carthage (Part of Champion)
Carthage (Part of Wilna)
Philadelphia (East of Watertown)
Lowville (East of Watertown)

You can get a list of banks for these places by using http://www.yellowpages.com. KeyBank tends to be the most productive with coin.

Please let us know how it goes.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll go with key bank because there is one in Watertown and I am not driving, I am not really looking for silver, I'm trying to get a box of pennies. I miss pennies :( Also want to grab a roll of quarters, halves and nickels, as well as a $2 bill.
