According to the Krause Catalog and numista.com, no Australian Florin was produced in 1937. Krause does list a trial strike Florin done in 1937, but it doesn't have a picture.

Here is what Krause says:
KM#: TS6
Date: 1937
Mintage: 15
Identification: Florin, Silver, Uniface, reverse.
Sold at Spink Remick Sale 9-06

If real, Krause is showing a market value of 80K

There are examples of 1937 Trial Strikes as Fuzzy317 has stated but this one certainly can't be one. All the 1937 Florins are uniface as far as I know and none of them have any modification to the details on the reverse to the extent that it would look similar to your coin. A dealer selling a 1937 Florin for $20 is as they say if it sounds to good to be true it most probably is and I think this is one of those times.

Very few Edward VIII coins were ever struck in the UK, but there are a number of private issues and a couple of patterns.

I'm guessing a fantasy issue. Like this one, but obviously with an Australian reverse: http://24carat.co.uk/frame.php?url=...reverse.html

Edward VIII abdicated on 11 December 1936, so a 1937 coin for KE8 seems "unlikely".
So, I'm of the opinion that Shane has a fantasy piece.
That said, the engraving looks stunning - and nice pics too !

I think these were created by Downies in Sterling Silver a few years back as a Fantasy piece.

There was a full set of these fantasy coins in Sterling Silver.
