Hi guys what is the deal with all these gold foil notes lately , every where I go I'm seeing them.

Is this for real or just some company that come up with the idea. Personally I don't like them look yuk but there awfully cheap. Is there any point to them?.

Some say limited 200 only etc even seen sheets of them uncut, any info would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

If by real you mean, do they come with some official imprimatur, no they are just a gimmick some entrepreneur has dreamed up. Just a new product idea to entice note collectors with shiny bling.

You probably know gold leaf can be so thin its lightness can almost float in the air, so if one assumes it is gold it still may only be worth a few cents because of its thinness.

For me, they are just another gimmick.
To each his own, I guess.
Remember 'phone cards and Olympic pins?

I observe that the Actual Gold Weight is almost never quoted in the marketing of these products.
BEWARE! I notice the Chinese are making imitation gold leaf; the perfect material for making fake replica gold foil notes.

Yep thanks guys I new it was just a gimmick but just making shore. No I haven't bought any at all and certainly will not be, I think they look crap anyways.

Yes gold leaf can be made extremely thin, My mate makes head stones and gave me an entire book of it that they use on the lettering and yes it does float in air better than a feather.

These though are actually gold foil, But would be lucky to weigh a gram LOL.

I was just checking my suspicions and my gut was right this time.

Thanks all for the heads up.
