I was wondering which mintage is correct for
the 1836 reeded edge bust half. I see out there
two different figures. 1,200 and 5,000
Thanks.

I believe 5,000 is the correct mintage figure. I've seen people/websites say 3,600 before as well... not sure what the reason for conflicting records is.

The figures I have seen range from the 1200 which Breen first used, all the way to 12000. The consensus now seems to be that about 5000 were minted. The other question is of course, how many are now extant? The coin is scarce, but seems to be regularly available.
