Hi all was wondering if anyone knew what was happening with the release of the circulating AIATSIS 50 cent coin? The Royal Australian Mint website says it was going to be released during NAIDOC week in early July but I'm yet to come across one in circulation or ebay does anyone have any information? Thanks!

I am still waiting for one myself. Really want to add it to my collection.
Only 2 mil minted so it will be a rare one.

I work at woolworths and we get a lot of the newer security bags, none have shown up though so most likely a delay through the RBA swapping currency with the banks(they try to get rid of older stock as opposed to newer stock I think)

Thanks for the reply's The only ones I could find on ebay are the coloured coins in the the cardboard packaging, I'm keen to get my hands on the circulation variety (same as the NCLT one but with no colour)

OK I think you wont see those till later in the year around the same time the rest of the 2014 circulated coins will start to appear. normally just before or just after Christmas they seem to start showing up. The $1 roo,s and Anzac coin is still not in circulation so about the same time they should all start showing up.

Hi again and thank you for the input. I sent a email to RAM and they stated the coins were sent to banks in late June but it is up to the banks to decide to release them, so I guess we will see them when they are ready!

I have seen some bags for sale and individual coins. Would love to know where to get a bag from that doesn't cost $100 though.

2 Million of them isn't going to go very far, unless the RAM are going to do more.
