The area around where the mint mark was located, is much brighter and lighter than the rest of the coin. You can also see the rubbing/scratches to blend in the surroundings. EDIT - See how the letters "ALF DOLL" are brighter? Report this Post to the Staff

Susuman Pillar of the Community United States 595 Posts	Posted 08/22/2014 10:32 am I can explain the different luster and polishing where the mintmark was, uhhh I mean would normally be. Anyway, they polished that area so it was really clear in the pictures that there is no mintmark, and is therefore a P. With that area being polished, it really verifies the coin. . . . .
