Well that's a waste of a nice barber half.

I don't know enough about this series, what am I not seeing? Ground off mintmark?

It does appear the mint mark was ground off.

How can you tell, it appears he took the photograph with a 1975 potato. I can't make out any details on his image.

click on the reverse image to select it, then hover over the image to enable zoom. The area around where the mint mark was located, is much brighter and lighter than the rest of the coin. You can also see the rubbing/scratches to blend in the surroundings.
EDIT - See how the letters "ALF DOLL" are brighter?

As usual, any high value coins would likely be in a TPG holder. Grade probably XF details. Is the mintmark ground off -- maybe. Could be legit.

I can explain the different luster and polishing where the mintmark was, uhhh I mean would normally be. Anyway, they polished that area so it was really clear in the pictures that there is no mintmark, and is therefore a P. With that area being polished, it really verifies the coin. . . . . Yeah right

I'm not convinced it has been altered. Looks like the flash may have created a deceiving appearance.

OK. I am wondering what a 1975 potato is.

Just a funny expression for a really terrible camera.
