Seems like fishing for suckers to me, and money is kind of a bank's business (duh?). Wouldn't they know, even if they still had silver coins, that they were worth more than face value?
It can happen a few times and only once in a blue moon, but it does happen. And as a rule no where near as often as he is claiming. It is difficult to get Ike dollars let alone Morgan or Peace dollars
It happens. A bank I frequent has a policy allowing employees to keep/buy silver dimes, quarters and halves, but not dollars. I was lucky on two occasions to get morgans and ikes for face value. I don't understand the policy and I don't ask for an explanation.
You can get Ikes , which my local brick and motar pays 1.05 for sometimes from banks. But seriously who is spending silver dollars at banks for them to have ?
I've found a couple at banks, I think I've found 5 total over the years, and we're talking thousands of stops at banks. The odds of any one bank having them at any given time are probably around .01%, no exaggeration.
