Was browsing coins for sale and saw this 1888-O that caught my eye with the die cracks above the right facing wing and what appears to be a chip above the F.

The images are the sellers I've tried to crop in on the die cracks. If need be, I'll post the Collector's Corner link.

Is this a VAM-1E or am I mistaken in my id'ing?

On VAMWorld it is listed as an I-2, R-6

Interest in this VAM is low correct? What does R-6 mean in regard to rarity? I couldn't find it explained on there.

Interest and Rarity are assigned at the time the VAM is designated, and represent an opinion based on Mr. Van Allen's (considerable) experience with the series. They are not, however, necessarily accurate in all cases.

Thanks nlp.

Thanks SSDdave. I figured that it represents his best estimate after all there are millions of silver dollars out there likely unattributed.

This coin caught my eye and peaked my curiosity.

I did a little more searching and found the interest and rarity scales explained on there.
