Tough one for me. On the obverse, the wear on the skirt lines and sun rays says VF-XF, but then the lack of wear to the stars on the flag says AU-MS.

I can understand why this piece is a 'slider'.

Weakenss in Liberty's head for instance, could be due to worn die, with late example off that die with almost no wear,
or
slight wear, early in the circulation life.
Same thing with the high points of the Eagle's breast feathers.

Hard for me to figure out, because there are so few nicks and scratches.
Nice combination of patination and lustre.

AU58.

tkbslc, early Walkers were struck in higher relief. Hence why you're seeing XF everywhere on a high AU coin. Strike quality was a constant issue, and that, along with dies wearing out faster, caused them to lower the design in, IIRC, '18 or '19.

Good information, thanks. I'm just used to seeing more skirt lines on high grade WLH. It looks great otherwise, so I'm sure you are right.

Looks to have strong luster and original skin, though there is some strike weakness. As chasingtailbar states, it is not uncommon for this date. I'll go with the forum census and say AU-58.
