Ok, I hope some of you have rolled the dice like me lately...I was surfing ebay, came across unopened GSA Morgan dollar boxes. The seller has a lot of them, and has other common and non common GSA CC Dates....Well they wanted $750 for 2 unopened...I offered $600 thinking they would pass!( Originally I was going to do $500, which I should have). Well they accepted and I should have them by Friday/Saturday. Has anyone else bought these or have any insight into the GSA CC Grade Possibilities? I'm not really Well versed on the GSA Morgan's so any advice would help. Thanks and pray for me...

Yeah, taking a chance with ebay doesn't end well, this is kind of like gambling on an "Unsearched roll" that just happens to have a Gold $2.5 Indian as an ender. At $500 for both and if they're Uncirculated GSA's I might take the tumble but for $600 and an unsure result? You should probably return them if there's no way of finding out the date/grade beforehand.

Yikes. I hope for the best outcome for you, but I doubt this will end well.

Many (most?) UNC GSA Morgans grade out at MS-61 or -62. VERY baggy.

Kanga, I would disagree. I have lots of gsa morgans ( more than 25) and they are at a minimum ms 63. I have ones that are 65 and 66, some pl and dmpl. I cant be the only person with higher grades. I was always told that 90 percent if all gsa dollars are at least 63. I personally have never seen then in 60-61. That being said, most are common date 83 and 84 cc. They are worth around $210 in 63 I believe. So $600 seems like a big gamble. you also have a few with the original boxes that came from the sale in the 60's. 2 or 3 are unopened. BUT the dates are stamped on the box. If your boxes are white with no stamp, chances arw they were repackaged. Thats a big scam on ebay. Anyone can order that size box from uline and seal a gsa inside. I'm sorry if I insult you in any way, and I hope for your sake you get a great year. But be ready for disappointment. If you are ok with the gamble and the price, then thats awesome. I personally love taking chances. I do it everyday 😊

Are they the original boxes with the address on them, and the dates stamped on the boxes?

No dates on boxes. They offer full refund, so I may take it.....ive never seen a date stamped box, but it makes sense in the scam angle...thanks for your opinions. You pretty much confirmed my fears. No more late ebay shopping!

IMHO, your odds far surpass those of the lotteries. Good luck!

Yep, 52Raymo, a seller can refuse a return if the item is not in the same exact condition as it was received. Even if you did something like give a PVC-contaminated coin an acetone bath.

Yeah, I don't take chances on ebay with any seller. Established reputation is key on ebay along with clear return policy in place.

The return policy on this is "14 days, unopened and in origional condition. I think I may just not even open the package they come in, just reship as received. When I looked deeper into their "100%" feedback, most of the unopened boxes are 83 & 84s so I'm pretty sure that will be the case. Once this stupid move is over, I'm gonna feel great spending my $600 on Seated dollar or something gold... thanks for all the opinions, even the harsh ones. To put it honestly and bluntly, I felt like a dumba$# inmediately after seeing they accepted.....
