Hi, I was gold panning near Wanlockhead in South West Scotland & found this in the water, I have been told that the Romans were in the area but have no clue to what this is. It is flat on the back as if it has been pressed or punched & the side shown has swirls all around the outside with straight lines & dots between the swirls when I look at it through my loup..
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated...

I used some software to lighten up your image and I'm guessing it's an old flat button.
