I spotted these splits on one of my coins this evening and every time I see where others have posted pics or an example of a DDO or DDR is posted there seems to always have splits on the points of one of the letters.

If you note the notching happen on several devices in a row. If you have just one part of a device showing it, it may just be coin contact. But in your images if you can show 3 or move devices in a row, that would give us a better idea on how strong the doubling is.

These are minor but you see a pattern of hub doubling.
