Hey There,
First, As you can see, I am new to this forum, but have come to it once and a while to read. Thank you for all the wisdom.

My question is that I came across a 1921 morgan with excess metal on the chest of the eagle (see detail pic), and I am unsure of what it is. The coin came in a lot of random morgan and Peace dollars.

Please see pics. Your guidance is appreciated.

Welcome to Coin Community, skeletonx. Nice that you've taken the leap from watcher to poster; this looks like an interesting one. The images are a bit small for definite conclusion, but I'm of the feeling that this was a pretty poor planchet. The bit on the eagle's chest looks to be a bit of a lamination, and I'm thinking those black striations running northeast-southwest might turn out to actually be part of the metal under closer examination.

Thanks !
Here is a blow up. Was just looking at another 1921 Denver from the lot and saw that it had some die break lines.

Yeah. We'll await other opinion, but your detail image makes me think I'm right.
