ok I tried to find out what it is ... it looks very government issue paper and official maybe it had a letter from the queen or governor with it.... it has the name DAVID MALANGI ON THE BACK WHO HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THE IMAGE but did do the other side of the $1 banknote the image is exact as the $1 banknote and the image is raised like it was pressed not ink stamped if you can under stand any of that

Shane, by raised ink do you mean the portrait was done by intaglio? That is how our banknotes have been printed and that supports your theory that this is some official printing (circa 65-66?).
Contact the RBA to see if they can shed light on what you have.
Also contact Mick Vort-Ronald via CAB magazine, if he doesn't have the answer then nobody does.
