I just re-shot this small silver coin, and for the purposes of studying die varieties, this level of detail is very useful! Even at 1:1.4, you can see the 1909/7 overdate, clash marks, lathe lines, minute die breaks, and re-engraving. Shot with my Nikon D810 and 105mm micro with mirror up, EFSC enabled, and focus-stacked.

Compare to my old photo shot on a Canon SD790IS. It was an OK shot, but nowhere near the dynamic range or detail!
