Yeah I cleaned it, bicarb and foil, then tried motor oil and oven mmmm what a mess up, looked a dull blue, bicarb and foil again. Still have to find the perfect combination for my pocket piece but will still search, boiled egg is ok but it is to fast and dont like the colours

No. 1 rule of coin collecting: Never clean coins or alter them in any way.
The shine you are seeing is not luster. By cleaning it you removed the top layer of the coin's surface. Any luster that was on the coin has been destroyed.

Uhm its a POCKET PIECE its suppose to be tortured lol which pocket piece outside a airtite is not tortured? Its not for selling its for my enjoyment to build a history with it. I have a lot of perfect bullion which I dont touch but my pocket piece is my torture coin lol this is how I enjoy it dont just carry it around to have it I use it flip it, tone it, show it, I know 100% of everyone will tell me I'm crazy but its ok its mine its my choice how I use it Oh it still looks like new anyway lol

This is great. Enjoy seeing you transform it. Did the eggs give it a blue tone? I heard that is one way to AT it.

First yellow then a darkens to blue, some red even pink but is to harsh but egg does it very quick, after its goes yellow and you take it out it changes colour to blue red ect but it takes time. But dont like it.

The feel of 99.99% silver in your hands is so cool, especially when it's a coin of this size. Do you carry any others coins with this one?

Quote: I know 100% of everyone will tell me I'm crazy Maybe 99.9% (get it?) I carry a special (to me) JFK half dollar everywhere I go. I like flipping it, turning it in my pocket, spinning it on the counter-top @ work & occasionally wearing it in my fedora like a feather.

Honestly, that's one sad thing about collecting perfect grade coins. You can't even touch them or it drops the value 10% each time. I like having some coins I can just flip in my fingers or spin it like a top, etc.
