Can confirm, these have been circulating in western sydney, 1 handed over at work that was siezed and sent to AFP. The feel was completely obvious although I gather thats due the to scrutiny we put bank notes through. From a distance (arms length or more) you couldnt tell them apart.
I dont see them being able to fool community members but its worth spreading the word to family / friends to avoid them being ripped off.
my simple advice is the crumple test, fakes will stay scrunched up due to the paper used, polymer notes will spring open.
and the UV / Blacklight test. Serial numbers will glow green on real notes, the fakes I've come accross so far have not had any UV ink on them. (4 fakes in 2 years to go by)
