I think that this is an Illyria Apollonia, but can anyone confirm this, or give me any more information, such as date etc., please?

TC if you enter Illyria Apollonia into the acsearch engine you will get 200 examples. There are 22 examples on vcoins.

I worked out the acsearch part and I found some references to coins that may be the same (or similar).
I'd still be interested to hear someone else's thoughts, though.

Sorry TC I was away from the pc. If you look at the stickies at the top of the forum, there are lots of links to really interesting sites. I am not familiar with this coin, it looks nice though.

The coin appears to be a drachm from Apollonia and is similar to Sear #1878 struck under the Roman protectorate 3rd to 2nd century BC.

Thank you echizento. I am not familiar with 'Sear #1878' and I couldn't find any reference to it, but . . . ..

I did find a reference to a coin with the same 'legend' and pictures on 'Wildwinds' (see Ceka 83).

That is the closest I have found, so I am going with that.
