Hi all,,
Just got this, an interestingly toned ASE.
Any idea of how this happened?
I know there is no additional value one way or the other but I liked it.
Bought with 2 1990 others that showed more normal levels of tarnish.
Thanks as always for your thoughts.

It was probably stored in some sulfuric paper. Like maybe an envelope or a napkin or something. For some reason a lot of people seem to think wrapping coins in a napkin or tissue protects them. I see a lot of "shoebox" collections stored like that.

It looks artificially toned to me.

Since posting, I have done some searching and found out it is not unusual.. not that I thought it reall ywas.. it is more about the shape and color .. and the untoned dots.
The other two are dully tarnished, even though they have a lot of blue in them and will probably test clean them with Baking soda, to see how they some out.. this one could be a keeper as is

I have seen many ASE toned like this one for being stored in a snap lock holder. The acid of the cardboard tone the coin starting on the rim.
