Most of my 1975s are like this (and I have quite a few more than other years), they have a slight cameo look on the bust only. The reverse looks normal. Is this a business strike or a prooflike escapee? They both have die polish lines visible.

1975 is the easiest year to get a decent business strike cameo. You can also find them from 1974.

Thanks SPP! Do the cameo ones carry a premium over non-cameo ones, and do the reverse need to have a "frost" effect too to be classified as a cameo or it needs the obverse only?

Yes, cameos do carry a premium, and ICCS/CCCS only consider the obverse when grading a cameo - but when it comes to nickel dollars, finding a buyer willing to pay a premium is even rarer...

Are they unpopular? Or is it just because they're not silver "silver dollars"?

They are not silver, and they never really circulated... that said, completing a date set in gem MS-65 grades is pretty darn tough...
