Going through some common bulk coins and this stood out, check out the massive die break on this one! Don't do much with American coins, was this a common occurrence with V nickels?

I believe that's a very early stage of a Retained Cud, they we're pretty common because nickel is tough on the dies so they break often

You could make a collection out of nothing but different die breaks, and stages of die breaks, with 1883 V nickels.

Sweet die crack! I really do like the early US nickel coins since many of them have really incredible cracks! I'm a BIG fan of them!

I like cracks as well, and I kinda like Westernsky's idea of making a set with different stages of cracks.
