Wondering if this would be considered a double date?

I don't have the 65 edition on the Victoria varieties.

It looks like it to me.

Please feel free to pick out anything on this coin.

I see some die breaks.

Hi 1947ML, nice coin you have there. I have one also. It shows in the catalogue as a repunched 1 with a repunched 8. Looks like there is something on top side of the 7 and top of the 6.

Stunning photography! Nice high grade. I love all the die cracks. Open "D's" (although without my references, not sure if that's a variety for that year or not). Thanks for sharing!

thanks for all the nice comments on the photos!

Canon Rebel, with a macro lens; however I still haven't figured out how to capture 50 cent pcs and 1 dollar silvers. too much reflection or something.

ALL 1876 cents have the same repunched 8. The 1, 7 and 6 can be doubled from both Machine Doubling and possibly hand repunched.

SPP is spot on. All 1876's have the doubled 8 so not a surprise here. The rest are hand punched doubling. It is not rare or scarce but certainly interesting. As such we didn't list this particular die in the 65th ed. There are many different dies with the 1, 7 and 6 re-punched. Yours has a nice offset on the 1 with minor offset on the 7 and 6. The 6 never really gets any more than what you see. There are 7's with more offset then shown. Nice coin, nice grade! Congrats on your find!

I should also mention that this is a known die pair to me. That obverse is relatively common and is paired up with several different reverses. Yours is fairly interesting due to the distinctive 1/1.
