I have been offered this coin. I believe it to be a Thrace from around 400BC, Can anyone confirm this and maybe suggest what would be too much to pay? (Seller's photos I am afraid.)
Ancient Greek Thrace Chersonesos. Circa 400-350 BC Fouree hemidrachm Forepart of lion right, looking back / Quadripartite incuse square; Ὲ in one quadrant, 1.50 g, 12-13 mm
1.5gr is rather light for this type. They are usually over 2 grams. I can't say I like the details that much--most I've seen have a more complete lion. So it's hard to evaluate the coin based on these details--I would hold out for a better example.
