I find these bars with African themes interesting. I been watching auctions but havent bidded. partly because of prices of silver and partly because I am not too sure how safe it is...

what do you guys think? Here is a link to view what I am talking about-

Very cool! And an oz of silver is an oz of silver no matter how much you pay for it.

Silver is volatile, but it always is what it is. Buy what you can afford when you can, & if you make a few bucks all the better.

If I'm reading the link you provided correctly... it's $685 for an 8 oz piece of silver...

If that's the case I wouldn't touch that item with a 10 foot pole!

You could buy 40 ASE or any other gov't recognized silver as well as a high end gold plating machine and you would still have more silver..

Just a bullion coin as I doubt there are collectors for this type of thing. If you like silver, best off buying generic rounds.

Purely collectible, and elephant picture. Do as you please. I can think of 650 better ways to spend money. You could get a die made for this price and pump out all the elephants you want. Two letters: J and M.

Hi guys, thanks for the feedback.

I should clarify a few things, which I probably should have said in my original post-

As MacMercury said, I really love elephants and thats why this bar caught my eye. I am not a fan of bars of any type metal, but it having the elephant got my eye lol

As far as the item listing, I was just showing that because of the item, I did see while looking around more at this bar that they have had auctions and have auctions going for around 360ish.

Which looks like its getting a premium at those prices.

In anycase, I do appreciate your guys thoughts and opinions.

BTW Mac, yes Rhinos are another favorite on coins. I have a couple coins and two of my favorites are:

The Rhino Silver ounce Republic of Congo 2012, antique finish coin, just beautiful work on a rhino, so nice the coin picks up on the texture of the rhinos skin, horn.

The other Rhino coin I like is that new Rhino Endangered species series, with the Black Rhino, I like the coin especially with the water reflection of the rhino AND the presentation is pretty neat, it comes in a "crate" lol

pretty cool stuff!

Got two of them black rhinos already graded as 70, with a limited run of 2,000.
