I think there is a misplaced date on the left side of the bottom of the ribbon. Thoughts?

S7 maybe ......

S7 1883, 18 in pearls.
Obv. 12: (B) The base of a 1 digit is visible over the third and fourth pearls. The base of an 8 is visible between the ribbon end and the neck truncation.
This is a very important variety that was recently discovered. It appears to be rather scarce.
{64BN, 63BN, 55}
Rev. L: Olive leaf and shield points connected to denticles.

I looked at the S7 but I can't see anything in the pearls. There is also an S9, '3' in the end of the ribbon, but neither look like the examples in Snow's guide. However, it does look like an MPD and my guide is not up to date. There may be new varieties that are not in my guide.

I hope it's not PMD, and I see how it kind of looks like snow 7, but I can't see anything in the pearls either.

It looks a bit like it took a hit on the ribbon there. Hopefully it will turn out to be something else though.

This coin appears to have a MPD and is not in the Snow guide. I'd urge CC members to also post their IHCs on the Fly-in forum for fast, accurate assessments.
