It doesn't matter if you don't accept returns: not as described or not received they will put a hold on funds or take It other ways. There's no such thing as no returns with Paypal / ebay, except when they refund a buyer and dont require them to return the item, because they think you don't want back. It's a tricky area having a no return policy. Read seller ebay forum and read some of the stunts they pull. Things need to be worded carefully.

Yep, I don't sell often on ebay but once the new Paypal changes are implemented I'll use EMT as my only payment option - If the buyer doesn't accept this then he'll have to purchase elsewhere...

Always remember that YOU are the ultimate recovery point for ebay and Paypal to go to in case of a chargeback, INR dispute or SNAD dispute. It does not matter if you have a "no returns" policy. ebay and PayPal policies supersede your policies and they will side with the Buyer most of the time. So, a "no returns" policy doesn't mean what you think it does. There has always been a 180 day window for a Buyer to dispute most credit card charges. It's in the fine print of the credit card merchant agreement (which PayPal agreed to when they decided to accept credit cards for you). So, what I think they are doing is aligning the Paypal user agreement with the credit card merchant user agreement by going from a 45 day dispute window to a 180 day dispute window. On the bright side, if a Buyer has a history of filing multiple disputes and chargebacks his claims are scrutinized much more closely.

Like the rest of the business world probably 98% of all buyers are good honest people, just have to weed out the 2%.

1. For coins only PayPal, ProPay and cash are accepted method of payments. 2. Seller doesn't know if the buyer has a history of filing multiple disputes. 3. We are screwed.

The following is a paraphrase of the 'fine print' done as a riff on Isaac Asimov's 3 laws of robotics for any sci-fi fans out there http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_..._of_Robotics1) ebay & Paypal will always get their cut. 2) ebay and Paypal protect the buyer except where this would conflict with the First Law 3) ebay and Paypal protect the seller only as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law Seriously, read the fine print. Fortunately most ebay coin buyers in Canada are honest (personal experience).

p.s. Remember, positive feedback left by the buyer is NOT accepted by Paypal/eBay as proof of delivery. Only a tracking number SHOWING SUCCESSFUL DELIVERY is considered proof.

taro-chan, Does EMT mean electronic money transfer ?
If it does, isn't it dangerous to give a buyer you don't know, your account details ?
If EMT doesn't mean electronic money transfer, what does it mean ?

After much reading, apparently Skrill and ProPay are allowed on ebay. These are the only allowable forms of payment for now. PLEASE TAKE WESTERN SkY's ADVICE! What he has writtenf1 is very true, ebay Paypal policy trumps your no return policy; when it concerns : item not received (INR) or Not As Described (fSNAD/ NAD) cases. Sellers go read the seller forums under ebay community. This is for your benefit!! I also forgot to mention, once a case is lost & refunded Paypal will not refund their portion of the fees!! It will also earn an ebay defect. This makes me wonder if refunding the buyer through, sending a refund through Paypals Send Money Option, would stop a defect from being earned? It's something to check into? A huge Thank You to Western Sky for his spot on Explainations!

@Pertinax Not sure if UK is different. But in Canada, EMT only requires a email address and a shared password between the two parties. If EMT is used, we can also forgo the whole ebay process. Haha.

This policy has so many negatives. Should I buy the latest tech and in 6months when they become obsolete return them? Or worst bullion if the price were to drop in 6 months should I come up with some nonsense and return them?
