SHAFTA9a - Of course, I would have to start thanking everybody in separate posts to get enough to sell the coins here. Problem is, I don't know enough about coins to seriously contribute to a real discussion. Oh well, nice place to hang out, anyway

chris, read and ask questions as you think of them. You will soon rack up plenty of responses AND learn some good stuff in the process.

Hi smokeriderdon,

Ah, and there we have the sum of the situation. I have an interest in coin collecting as needed for the sake of properly handling the estate. And, without a serious interest it is really hard to ask intelligent questions and, even harder, to respond intelligently to quality answers. I'm sorry to admit that coins hold no personal interest and I probably never would have even been here 4 years or so ago had it not been that I was at a loss as where to look or how to start. This forum has been invaluable for reference and advice - the folks here are great, they have patience and are real people. I realize that the common thought is that 'the only stupid question is the one that goes unasked'. But, just asking questions, merely for 'Trivial Pursuit', to rack up points to try and sell a few coins, I consider an insult to those who take the time and trouble to help, share their knowledge and answer them. Sorry, didn't mean to go off the 'deep (thought) end'

Who knows, though. Perhaps my brother will find something else stashed in the house - or chamber or garage or ... - and I will ask for help once again. In the meantime, thanks to one and all for all the help over the years!
