Hello all,

Ive got this big coin in my collection which I can't identify yet. On one side it says COLONIA PATRIUA?
The other side has an head to the right and FERM AVG?

Maybe Julius Ceasar or Augustus?

The coin wieghts 8,11 grams and the diamter is 24mm so it is probably an AS or Sestertius I think?

Was wondering if someone could of help me with this piece..

This one I found.

AUGUSTO. COLONIA PATRICIA. Anv.: PERM. CAES. AVG. Cabeza de Augusto a izquierda. Rev.: COLONIA PATRICIA. Alrededor láurea.

I was right about the augustus part.

Yup, an Augustus from Colonia Patricia. In good shape too.

Here's a similar type I have, but from Julia Traducta:

The Julia coin has a different inscription in the wreath. Some coins do use the same reverse as others, or very very similar ones, though.

Just a tip (from another novice) Vince77 Where you have a clear inscription, if you 'Google' that a lot of your questions will be answered for you. I 'Googled' Colonia Patricia and five coins (from Wildwinds) popped up on my screen, together with a whole bunch of information.
When you have some information to start with 'Google' is a great place to start.
