....but I wonder why the grading opinions from our well known experts don't pipe in..?

I get the feeling that the angle of the coin photographed really washes out the braid detail... I may be wrong but I suspect that in hand the braid detail is FAR more defined, would also love to see a pic of the reverse...

That being said, I think even in hand many Canadian collectors would still think it is overgraded, and it comes down to the well known difference in grading philosophies of American grading companies in comparison to the Canadian grading companies... Canadian grading companies are far stricter on wear on circulated coins but will also ignore other problems which would not be accepted for a numerical grade by PCGS or NGC...
