I'm considering putting my early Comms in the Whitman albums, which seems nice and I like the slots for pulling out the acrylic sheets. But, I don't see any Whitman offering for the later (Modern) Comms. I see that Dansco does offer those.

Does Whitman make albums for the Modern Comms?

I think I found the answer in an earlier post (if I had only looked harder). It appears that Whitman only has albums for the early comms. Dansco has a couple of versions of the Modern halves, one for each coin and one for BU and Proof. Dansco appears to be the only one offering albums for Modern dollars. Do I have this right?

In one sense, "Yes." I believe Dansco is the only company offering an album for the modern US commemorative series. A fellow member of my local coin club stores his collection in the Dansco album set - each album is quite heavy when full!

There is at least one other approach you could consider. Lighthouse makes albums that hold coins in capsules. You could purchase one of these albums to store your dollar coins in their original US Mint capsules (or in Lighthouse capsules). The album wouldn't have the coin names printed on each page, but it would offer excellent protection for your coins.

Here's a link to what I am talking about: http://www.lighthouse.us/epages/lig...2258/US_2569

Thanks for the Lighthouse suggestion. I think I like the Dansco album better. Both will be heavy when full. No perfect answer.
