I have been in the habit of getting a roll of these coins from the mint, but lately I've begun to wonder if this was a good idea.

Besides the price issue, there is currently no space in a Dansco album to display these coins. To me, that's a real down side to the equation. Is there an album out there that has a dedicated space for these coins?

I suspect that I could order a blank album cover and blank quarter pages and save them that way.

I have two of these coins (Denali, White Mountain) and just put them in a plastic holder to display. I don't know of an album that displays these.
Rest in Peace

The ATB business strike coins got me to bite at first. Bought a number of P & D mint rolls then they came out with the S well into the program.
Almost caught me on getting them but noooo! It is a total money maker for the Mint.and a loss for the buyer. IMHO Twenty to whenever years from now I may be wrong.
I still buy the ATB Silver Proof Sets just for my own collection. At least they are silver.

IMO .. the ATB business strike "S" mint quarters are a
must have for the Washington quarter collector.

The mintages are lower than any other quarters except the
1932 "D" and 1932 "S".

These quarters are only sold in rolls and bags and have a average mintage of 1.4 mil.

The only problem I see are there are no holes for these coins in most of the coin holders.

In my opinion after the series in completed we will see new albums that will have spots for these coins.

Album manufacturers would not want to take a chance on adding them now, without knowing exactly what the mint will do before the program is over.

For me I purchase a roll for each one. I do hope when the series is done, I will be able to sell complete sets for multiples of what I paid for them.

Back to the original question.

I use the Dansco date album
ATB-San-Francisco-Business-Strike-Coins

For the years 2010 I use a set of silver proof quartes ("S" mint), for 2011 I use a clad set of proof ("S" mint) quarters.

I buy rolls to sell singles and rolls to keep. As mentioned, with the low mintages they will become much more valuable. I highly doubt anyone is going to be pulling many from circulation.

Don ...I agree ...pretty sure people who spend the premium for the rolls or bags will not
be dumping or spending them for face.

So I also don't think many will be found in circulation.

Also I think it is sort of funny ... If the mint made a business stroke coin with only 1.4 mil and
Dumped them all in to the circulation system ... Many many many collectors would be happy
to pay a premium to get a few or a roll or two.

Anyone see any "circulation" S coins in slabs and if so what are the grades and what are they selling for?

I have been purchasing D and P rolls of ATB since the series started and S rolls were added to the mix when that coin was created.

I think that I'll continue to purchase these coins and probably add an additional S roll to the mix. After all you can't have to many low mintage coins now can you?

However, I do have a question about the 2010 satin coins. Where do they come from?

I mean I have Silver Proof, Proof, and Uncirculated sets for that year. So where did they come from? Are they still being made?

One last thing, at the present time I just can't see my way to open up any S roll to put just one coin in an album. I think that I just may have to open up the wallet down at the lcs and purchase them there and keep the two rolls to myself.

But where did the Satin 2010's come from? Are they still making Satin ATB coins? I can just see myself getting ripped off without knowing that I've been ripped off.

A little help here please.

The satin coins replaced regular business strike coins in the 2005-2010 uncirculated mint sets.

I have been in the habit of buying ATB 10 pack sets consisting of both the P & D coins for the year. In 2013 the mints called them "2013 America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Setâ„¢ (N97)". You don't suppose that the Satin Sets would be in there would you.

In 2014 would this be the mint set to find the Satin coin
2014 United States Mint Annual Uncirculated Dollar Coin Set (XA6)"?

Just looking for clarification. Thanks accumulator

If we are talking ATB Quarters ... as of this date,
The only satin quarters will be in, or have been broken
out of the 2010 mint sets.

As posted the 2005 through 2010 mint sets were all satin coins.
I have seen some coins in mint sets (2005 - 2010) that don't
look very satin like ... but officially they are satin coins.

I disagree. Consider how many proofs and other NIFC issues (also sold at a premium) are found and how they get usually get into circulation (dumped or spent by ignorant heirs or thieves).

There will be people reporting S-ATB finds... eventually.
