Can't tell you if it is real or not as I am no expert on these coins, but Ican tell you that just about every gift shop in Washington DC has coins just like that one for sale.

I just did some digging and found that the copper one is worth between $3.50 and $51.00. Could not find it at first till I knew to call it a pine tree coin. Figured it out. :)

It is a crude reproduction/tourist copy, not a genuine colonial coin.

Those are the prices for the replicas. There is only one single original example known of this coin, and it was found 165 years ago. The proof of your coin's inauthenticity is in the shown legend "1C LM", for "1 Cent, Lawful Money."

Unfortunately, it should read "1d LM", "d" being the British designation for a Penny. The term "Cent" was not in use then.

I have that replica and plan to keep it since the only example ever found will likely remain out of my price range.
