How would this coin grade? Also where would I find the value on this coin?

Maybe this will help better with the face of the coin. The picture should be a little larger.

Without even looking at a picture I would expect 100% of Japanese Trade dollars I see to be fake.

It is up to you to convince me it is genuine.

Start with:
Is it magnetic?
What is its diameter in mm and weight in grams?
How did you acquire it?

Really I would only believe it genuine if you or the person you acquired it from had a track history of dealing in genuine high value Asian coins. Given your other threads with counterfeit Chinese silver coins and tempo tsuho, I don't think that's likely.

Like I said, that's without even looking at a picture.

Again, look at the dentils around the edge and the beads around the dragon. The beads aren't too bad but I don't like the look of the dentils. Also the concentric line in the rim on the tip of the obverse picture.

Others more familiar with this type may point out other signs of forgery that I miss, like issues with the letters or calligraphy.

The reason I'm unfamiliar with this type is that they are out of my price range.
Genuine ones easily sell for $500+.
How much did you pay for yours?

I concur with the "first things first" approach to authenticating something like this. Easy enough to verify the weight to begin with, as it actually bears that specification, so it should be 420 grains (and most scales will have a mode for grains, so you won't even have to do any math). I also agree that based on my experience, these are presumptively phony until demonstrated otherwise.

I don't think it's genuine either. Genuine examples especially with no chopmarks are worth in excess of 1000 dollars.
