Class 4's have always been a puzzle for me. 1949 has 3 listings of them, this one unfortunately is not looking like one of them...sadly. Have a look, I'd appreciate your opinion.

Usually we see the doubled eyelids on the area in the recessed area. A closer shot might help. But there is a lot of problem in that area with die wear that looks like what you are seeing.

The more the doubled lid shows the more desirable they are. This looks pretty minor if it is not die wear.

Coop, thx...it is in an unusual spot and I would have disregarded it but looking at the 03 (i think) it was a lower position, so I thought maybe this one had some interest in checking. I've yet to find one.

When they are this strong a lot more interest is shown for these:

I bought a roll off ebay and found a few in it. Then he sold a few more rolls and I acquired a few more. I eventually bought all he had except for one roll that got away from me. So I have a few extras of this die.

That's a nice condition coin too. I think the coins I have are so worn that the lid of the eyes are hard to make out anyway. Tx Coop.

Thanks. Note the angle of the doubled eyelid? That should be the angle if you do find this variety.
