True. I took about 10 pics and the "S" didn't show up on any of them. Oh well.....

I checked my original 1952 proof set in the box a while back and was glad to find that the quarter was a superbird variety.

1952-Proof-Superbird-Washington-Quarter-Vartiety

It may be hard to see. I had to take the pic through the cellophane...
