Here is an aluminium "Shrine" Token (for lack of better description). It is about 20.5 mm, plain edge. Both sides are Dated: 26-3-99 with 3 'deities' on one side and a wall/city with a flag? There is some Asian script and the date again. Actual date on both sides is the same so it might be commemorative of something.

ID required or if you can read this coin it might help?

The script is Devanagari - Indian script. I don't know what language it is; presumably Urdu, the lingua franca of India, or perhaps a local dialect or even Sanskrit if it is a religious amulet of some kind.

It's certainly not your typical "Indian temple token". The three figures on the obverse (?) look more Byzantine than Indian to me.

There are many dialects spoken/written in India, unfortunately what writing there is on this token appears 'mashed', however, any word deciphered may provide a further clue into what this date 26-3-99 commemorates.

The three figures with the stylized halo has me puzzled too; as I am unable to identify a religion let alone writing or dialect (establish a link between the two).

Still hoping someone may be able to read a part of this token? Thank You.

I tried every possible lagnuage that looks like this, but I did not get any reasonable translation.
Sorry....
Maybe you can try to find a numismatic club or forum in India, or one of the surrounding countries

There are many different dialects in India(& Sri Lanka) and the surrounding area. Thank you for your efforts on my behalf. This is not a simple answer... your suggestions are valid.

I have a copy of this coin/token as well and would love more information on it. It was given to me from a friend who visits India regularly, but he couldn't remember where he obtained the coin/token. Have you been able to find any more information on it?

This thread is the only reference that I can find online (without knowing more about the script/date/images.
