Just curious about the coins, what countries and time were they from?

@ 'Petersun':

The top one is a Russian coin (rouble would be my guess) of Empress Catherine the Great (1762-1796)
and the bottom one is Empress Maria Theresia (of Austria) (1740-1780) and looks like the obverse of the famous "Maria Theresia Thaler" which was minted for quite some time in several places and constituted the major trade currency in Africa for some time.

And if you wonder about his current avatar, that is a Shilling (?) of James II of England, Scotland and Ireland (1685-1688).

Excellent, Medieval.

The top one is indeed Russian, but minted a few years before Catherine the Great. It is a 1757 1/4 Ruble of Tsarina Elizabeth Petrovna (1741-1761).

You nailed(!) the others.

Made the mistake not fully reading the legend on the top one as it reminded me of the coins of the young Catherine the Great.

Looking again the "Elisavet'" is quite clear except that the "S" should look like a "C" and not a "G" - it is proved again one shouldn't rush things too quickly.

Thanks Bill for correcting my mistake.

Note: I only answered because I wondered if you would look at the post again before it gets locked.
