With the early proof coins, halves, dollars, etc. would die cracks be possible on proof strikes?

Most likely not, due to the care in striking the coins and the very few number made for each year and denomination. However, some exceptions exist, but as a general rule, no.

Possible but occur infrequently. The dies generally would not be subjected to the use where dies cracks would form due to the limited mintages of proofs and if a die crack did form, the die would be retired in relatively short order. If you google "die cracks on proof coins", there are several articles about die cracks on proof coins not from the 19th century but the 21st century.

Yes they do occur. Mainly on earlier proofs, not as much on the later 19th century issues.

I think that there are, but it is not very likely due to the quality control and the limited number struck.

Of course this is the answer. Our government workers that inspect our coins at the Mint are such experts that no imperfect coin would ever be allowed to leave.
