I probably need to take a better picture, but an about condition would be great.

Also, if you could tell me what to look for. For instance, I picked this one because the ear looked really good, at least compared to some of my others.

I would say this coins is about MS 63 or 64.

Some of the high points of Morgans are the hair right above the ear, Liberty's cap, and the eagle's breast feathers. Also something to look for are marks on Liberty's cheeks and the fields.

You might also want to get the PCGS photograde app or use their website (http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/Morgan/Grades)

I'd guess 64 with these images.

Thanks,

I hope it is a 63 or 63!

I sent some in to NGC (should get back tomorrow). I think this is in a little better shape and they came back at 62 and 63. The ones I sent had very heavy toning and I didn't want someone to think I fake tanned them :)

I also don't know if I should send these in (if they are 63 or 64). I didn't pay anything for them as my mom gave them to me and they all seem to be about the same quality.

I know $ wise it probably doesn't make sense. However, as I mentioned on another thread, I took one into the coin shop where my mom lives and they said $17 bucks as it looks to be vg - I thought that was crazy crazy.

The reason I would send them in is so if I just give them to my daughter, if they go to sell them, the shop doesn't just tell them they are all vf.

From these pics it could be a 63 or a 64. Better images would rule out lower grades.

MS-63 or 64 looks about right. Luster appears full which would put it in the mint state grades. It is hard to tell if there how many and how severe the marks are. The cheek, obverse fields, eagle's breast, reverse fields are generally grade sensitive areas with the cheek being the worst place for marks. When grading, the obverse carries more weight than the reverse with a some exceptions.
