Hello guys found this from sterling currency , nice little tutorial on checking for fakes. Hope people find it helpful and interesting.

What do you all think of the info , I found it helpful. Went on ebay and surprize surprize , a lot of the 1932 florins certainly look like the fake in this vid.

Please let me know what you think is this a good indicator as I want to buy a 32 florin and do not want a fake.

Watched the video, really pointless and distracting music makes the first part hard to watch.

Sweetap, you sure are tapping some sweet sweet information buddy! Agree re how many 1932 Florins on ebay do look like the video. Is the video correct? If so how do these guys on ebay get away with it? Is it not fraud? Aren't they easily chased? Tap me some more info so I can understand this crazy market...

Sorry you didn't like it Nealeffendi and yeh I wasn't hot on the music at the beginning either.

Andy its not fraudulent to manufacture fake coins only to on sell as an original and a lot of peeps once purchased a fake not knowing its a fake then try to sell it later thinking it is genuine.

Ignorance is no excuse in the eyes of the law but as its a federal police matter and they have way better things to do than chase up innocent coin collectors they tend to no get involved unless they get info on companies purposely doing it. So I have been informed anyway. Its a difficult one.

Personally I would hate to have a coin that I was selling and thought it was genuine only to end up in court for selling a fake. It would make me feel pretty morally trodden on.

The law should simply make it totally illegal to manufacture any type of fake currency, Problem is its used for so many things like movies etc .

To me I think it should be illegal to manufacture without a correct licence and a record of what was produced and a distinct change in appearance to allow easy identification of said items. Lets face it there are several coins a day being sold at auction houses all over the country that are fakes.

I have seen several of late. Unfortunately the auction houses even though have some experience 1 don't really care and 2 generally don't know a fake from a real one unless told or its a 1930 penny.

Most 1930 pennies I have seen at auction houses are sold as gap fillers its because they know how rare they are and don't want to end up in court or refunding.

Common fakes I have seen are 1930 1925 1946 pennies 1923 half penny Melbourne commemorative florin megga out there fake, Crowns especially the 1938 and 1932 florins, All the high end coins, Makes sense why would a thief make a 1964 penny there not even worth a $. Thank you.
