Note the "S" mintmark indicating it was struck at San Francisco.

1942, 1943 and 1944 3d, 6d and Florin coins also had the "S" mintmark as well
The 3d and 6d also had the "D" Denver mintmark in these years.

Arkie, not that hard for the mints to add less copper to make sterling instead of .900.
There are a few struck on the wrong alloy as your mints (like all mints) make mistakes and used blanks intended for US coins.
