Hi,

could anyone help me to identify these coins for me, please?

I figured out that they are supposed to be from Nepal and Tibet, but that's all I managed.

And do they look genuine to you?

Thanks very much for your help!

The left (dark) one is a Tibetan Gaden Tanka and the right (lighter) on is a silver Mohar from Nepal. The top picture shows the reverses, so the bottom ones are the obverses.

Likely genuine, not worth to make a forgery of a common and cheap coin - nothing from the pictures would indicate that either would be a cheap copy (as exist of some cheap chinese coins).

Tibet Tangka
Billon
No date
Wavy lines between in outer angles
So date may be between 1899 and 1907

There are several varieties of this coin. Dots, lines....
So it is a little bit difficult for a correct determination

Corrections welcome

The best reference for these is:

Rhodes, Nicholas G.: The Gaden Tangka of Tibet. Oriental Numismatic Society, Occasional Paper, no. 17, January 1983.

which is only a 20 page pamphlet if you can find it as an off cut.
